Abstract: The central concept of this research paper is to acquire an efficient understanding of academic honesty. This concept has gained prominence in higher educational institutions not only in India but also in other countries worldwide. When individuals are working on tasks and assignments, they must adhere to specific laws and regulations. When they are working on any types of assignments and projects and are making use of other authors’ work, they are supposed to cite those authors. On the other hand, not citing sources is referred to as plagiarism. Plagiarism is referred to as academic dishonesty. Students in higher educational institutions, pursuing Bachelor’s, Master’s, and doctoral programs, need to implement the concept of academic honesty. On the other hand, academic dishonesty is referred to as not citing the sources when utilising other authors’ work. The students are taught to give credit to other individuals when they use their work. Acquiring an efficient understanding of academic honesty will open the door for students in higher educational institutions to achieve educational goals. Furthermore, they will be able to enhance their career prospects. Therefore, it is widely acknowledged that academic honesty is crucial for achieving educational objectives. The primary concepts examined in this research paper are the fundamental values of academic honesty, academic honesty policies, and factors that underscore the importance of academic honesty.
